ESCAPE FROM UTAH by Fiona Goodwin

A five-year-old boy
Presumably tired of lockdown
Had a dream
He took the family car
On the freeway
And headed for California.
This .was no spare of the moment thing
He had saved up three dollars
His plan
To buy a Lamborghini
Highway patrol suspecting
A medical condition
Or a desperate lockdowner
Driving under the influence
Flagged him down
The five-year-old knew to stop
He was found crying
Two little feet on the brake
He didn’t know how to get out of gear
For now he has to wait
But I’m pretty sure one day he will get that car.
We’ve been stopped
We are waiting to be free
We’re in the pits
Changing the wheels
Making sure the right gas is in the tank.
You know it’s an inside job don’t you?
What is your California?
What do you need to get there?
Get a map
Get to know your car.
