SUMMER FUN by Brooklyn age 7

Cossie’s and thongs
on our feet.ready for some fun
Daddy drives us to the local pool
We bound out of the car excited to see friends.
With 5 dollars to spend tucked tight in my hand. Mummy’s voice echoes in my mind. « Spend  it wisely amd don’t forget lunch »
with slushies  in hand we sit by the pool. giggling flicking each other with our towels
The smells of  sumner, of fresh watermelon and sausages on a barbie float through the air
families having picnics.and some playing cricket,  and toy boats and buckets and spades.
We finish out slushies and all dare to jump in the deep end of the pool
Still giggling we agree to all hold hands and jump in together. The joy of friendships of innocence and not a care in the world..
