MY BOX – MY CHOICE by Annsofi Hjärtström

If I would be
What others think
I should be
I would not be me
I would be put in a box
That isn’t mine
I would fight in that box
To survive
Not live
You cannot say
What others should be
Your rigid box
May not be for me
If there is no box
That speaks to me
I will create a new one
To be flexibly free in
I decide the structure
Of that box’s walls
I decide what to call my space
It is not for anyone else
To do
I can choose
To share my box
With you
But no written
Or unwritten rule
Says I must
It is all
Up to me
