MUSIC IN THE AIR by BJ Parks

There is music in the air
There is music everywhere

Listen can you hear it
No it’s not a radio, television or telephone

It’s my old rooster Clyde crowing into the dawn
Telling the sun it’s time to carry on

The trees, leaves and breeze are a trio that aim to please
It might be a comforting lullaby or a gust full of rage

There’s that soulful refrain
From the far away freight train

Could be Shug and Cooper (aha Shuga Bear and Super Cooper)
Barking with a sense of urgency announcing that something is not right out there

The crickets, bull frogs, ducks and the waves on the pond are a quartet that you never forget
Every evening they break out into song inviting you to sing along

It might be the coyotes running up the dry creek
Telling the moon it’s time to go to bed

There is music in the air
Can you see the music you hear
