LULLABY AND GOODNIGHT – SLEEP TIGHT – DON’T LET THE EAR WORMS BITE by D.K. Linda

My mind feels exhausted.
I want to sleep but there are things to do
Bills to pay, thoughts about her I must negate.
My eyelids feel heavy – the weight too much.
I can’t succumb. I fight to keep the pictures just there a moment before
from vanishing into a dark blurry realm writhing down a into hole I cannot follow.
Her soothing voice lulls me into a comforting slumber, pulling me in deeper
My head flops- I startle and recover, over and over until I relent
I shall sleep now. I shall dream – dreams that will disappear like grains of sand
But for a moment, I felt her inside.
