Just in time By Fiona Goodwin

Just a little piece of me
Found its way back
In the dirt and grass of the softball field
Shouting and screaming
As I hit the ball
And ran
I’ve been waiting for this,
For The exhilaration
To remember what it felt like To dive to save the match
I was twelve again
I’m not sure why it’s taken so long
To get my body back
I have a window to play
I’m not letting the ball get past me this time.
