DISARM THE POSSIBLE HARM by Annsofi Hjartstrom

Healing through writing – we say
Healing with words pouring out of us
All fighting for a place in the linguistic puzzle

What do I choose to be expressed
this time?
What do I choose to be told?
To be shouted out to the world?

A piece of my soul
For anyone to touch and feel

Why do I want that?
Why do I do it?
Don’t I put myself in the bullseye
of being hurt
By sharing my soul to the world?
Can’t anyone use it against me?

No, I don’t think so

Sharing your words means being vulnerable
And vulnerability disarms destructive forces
Vulnerability makes you stronger
than anyone who is living on their own surface – Polishing their masks
while fitting into their made up boxes
Of Perfection or Hate

Showing vulnerability and authenticity
Is one of the most powerful tools
We can ever cary with us

So when we heal through writing
When we heal with words
pouring out of us
Fighting for a place
in the linguistic puzzle
And being shouted out to the world

When we do that
Then no one can hurt us
in connection to those words
Ever again
Once expressed
They have disarmed all the harm
Possible of existence
