BRAIN WAVES by Susan Byrnes

As I move from theta
To delta
And drift away
I feel grief for the place
That never was
I feel a yearning for the home
That was not there
I feel a hollow emptiness
And a drowning thirst
Never moistened
By an angels kiss
I’m lying across
A parched desert
Where the vultures soar
These are some visions
That guide my way
But it’s only perception
My friend
Which will be
Today
