ADVENTURES WITH A BODHISATTVA or YOU ARE WHO I BELIEVED YOU TO BE by Karen Marie Christa Minns

The Journey is long,
filled with rough edges,
potholes and sand.
Tires blow out.
Engines catch fire.
All around us
People are speeding
to their tiny destructions.

You look in the mirror,
straight ahead,
nonplussed,
tentative,
smiling.
Touching my knee
only once;
adjusting your glasses;
Keeping the music Low.

I have no need
to look out, into the distance;
To worry, now,
about the Landscape, or
what is ahead
of Us,
on this Road.

Instead,
I just keep whispering,
to all of Our Angels:

“Thank-you.
Thank-you.
Thank-you.
Amen.”
