You’ve never walked in my shoes by Fiona Goodwin

I don’t think I’ve ever done anything I didn’t want to do,
My comfort zone came under threat from unmet desires and the power of intention
Like the bud that one day finds it more comfortable to open
Than to remain closed.
We idolise the brave –
The jet fighter pilots always breaking through new horizons
And we shame ourselves when we are stuck
I don’t remember anything I did
That gave me more courage
Than the kindness and belief of a friend.
Are some of us more worthy
Of courage?
I don’t think so.
Do some of us need to be kind to our stuckness?
Yes we do
There is faith hope and love
The greatest of these is love…
Who cares how high you fly
Or how far you’ve walked.
You have never walked in my shoes.
