“The View” by Jen Curry

The tall elm trees
tower in the backyard.
Reaching into
spaciousness.
Branches like the loving arms
of the Buddhist deity; Chenrezi.
Stretching out
spreading compassion.
Swaying in the sunlight,
moonlight and the
eternal sacred void.
Grounded, pilgrims.
Rooted far out of reach.
Knowing,
understanding,
communicating
beyond mere words.
Standing in stately stillness.
Singing to sparkling stars.
That continue to stare
upon gorgeous giants.
Caring with curiosity to the core.
So many come home.
Living in cozy consciousness.
Creating nest
to cuddle and rest.
In the timeless,
empty now
without distress.
