So many things // 2021 deep blue river musings @ Debbie Carrier

There are so many things I would like to say to you
Now I can only say with my eyes
If you were looking
you’d notice
I am still taken
By you.
So many words just want to pour out
Like sweet apricot jelly
I pant. I walk. I pace. I breathe.
I pace. I pant. I walk.
Caged paper tiger is no danger just spirited. energetic. thoughtful.
Tame.
There is a certain quality about you
Eccentricity
Humor and eloquence
And there aren’t any trees in this savannah
Whose limbs move whose leaves move like your lips move
Pouty lips at rest
Make Night sigh
There are so many words that don’t need words that wait on caresses that pour like honey like liquid honey like mercenaries
Coming through a thicket
Sword fighting
There are so many words I’d like to rest
On pouty lips
And seek sustenance from winter fruit
I’d like to say whispers
Like gentle is the night
And good to be friends
And feeling reborn
And I would like to form words
Even if they didn’t get completed
Just the start of words
Half spoken
That fell into
Embraces.
And danced the silly night away
Breaking chains
Using freedom
To escalate
On the tips
Of the things I’d like to say
To sigh
To breath
