My own Polaris  by Julie Williams

She is my North Star, my own Polaris, a bright moon
To guide me in the darkness;
She is my Rosetta Stone, my key to unlock my deepest secrets
and open my mind to the new and exciting;
She is my Holy Grail, a treasure that gives me sustenance and
makes the cold morning dewfall warm;
She is a rare and precious diamond cut exquisitely, she is
more beautiful than the Acropolis or the Parthenon;
She is a wonder of the world, that beholding leaves me as breathless
as reaching for air in a humid and arid desert.
She is my Pandoras box, the unpredictability of a close tornado
Where every direction is a new journey of exploration.
She is my here and now, my everything, my joy and my passion
My friend, my lover, my soul.
My North Star, my own sweet Polaris.
