LESBIAN PRAYER FOR AN UNAMEABLE GOD by karen marie christa minns

How long on my knees
must I tremble; my Soul
Ripped and burning,
Bleeding below me?

You said: ” Cry out. I’ll answer !”
But the answer is hard.
Another test.
Another task.

A life of searches;
Yearning;
Longing;
Calling through long shadows.

Crawling with bowed head;
Raised palms; sometimes Eyes.
My Spirit lit
and blazing.

All I’ve ever asked
Is Righteous Light,
A clean, steady Love,
A scoured Heart,

And your Hands
Holding my own.
