EVEN ON DAYS LIKE THESE by Fiona Goodwin

I think that Light is looking for a dwelling place
A physical body
That will blatantly go around shining
I imagine myself with windows
and when they’re clean
And when the curtains
Aren’t closed
They give out a blaze of brilliance
And dark streets
And sad hearts
And twisted shadowy corners
Will know they have been seen and heard
It’s the best feeling
But I do need to keep my windows clean
And my curtains open
Even on days like these.
