DOES A FIRE HAVE A LIFE OF ITS OWN? by Laura Merritt

Fire unattended will spend its fuel and weaken. With out sustenance flames dwindle and snuff out. Days of dark and disparaging weather set in. Hungry embers remembering the soul on fire may smolder beneath the ashes. Trying to outlast the famine that threatens it. Preserving the hope that it may again flare into flame.
Instead of stones for a wall you have gathered tinder; gratitude, love for yourself, and purpose. A new spirituality to life has grown where before nothing had meaning. Meditation has replaced the time spent dwelling on losses, disappointment and the unfairness of life. Together they are the kindling that strengthens the fire.
Trust your sisters in the Tribe, they share their love, strength and hope. The heart of the flames. So stir into the ashes and find that hopeful ember. Remember how it was first kindled to life. Learn the ritual of lighting the fire. It is the fire that will lead you on your path.
