ANALYSIS OF CONTEMPORARY LOVE CHOICES or A MIRROR AMONG OUR EASTER EGGS by karen marie christa minns

The Heart is the strangest organ,
So often choosing the worst
for our Lives:
Seeking those who ignore us;
Sipping polluted potions;
Singing out to the deafened;
Dancing passions for the blind;
Gifting the wealthy;
Praising the famous;
while flying past
Those who gently ask,
“Why?”

It cries, “We are lonely !”
It cries, “We are wounded !”
“Untouched and unchosen!”
“Unworthy and unseen!”
How often it cringes.
seeking the tundra;
walled-up enclosures;
fear-riddled corners;
and scorpion dreams.

The Heart is the strangest organ
of all.
When armored and guarded,
it grows
Incredibly
small.
