I’m not Adele or Esther Perel By Fiona Goodwin

Here am I
A soul wandering through time
It matters not
That I shine,
All that matters is that my body, my heart, my mind are mine.

This wasn’t always the case
I’ve played small
saluted many flags
I’ve lowered my own and
And stood to attention
In the face off sweet dictatorship
I was trained that way
To give myself away.
Now No longer hostage to another’s idea of me
I’ll be true,
True to who I am
a soul wandering through time
It matters not
That I shine,
All that matters is that my body, my heart, my mind are mine.
