What takes my breath away… by Fiona GOODWIN

When hope comes out of nowhere
When before there was despair
When I give up hope, when it would be foolish not to
When I believe, when everything screams to the contrary
When I speak the truth about myself
When to do so I risk your love
When I’m grateful when I would rather Be mean
to me and to you
Mostly what takes my breath away
Is the tears that I shed
When I am simply grateful
For gratitude
For nothing in particular.
