THE ANGEL THAT GUARDS MY SOUL by Fiona GOODWIN

Sometimes an angel settles down
Beside me when I pray
I know it’s there because I see it out Of the corner of my eye
And I feel a Slight brush of air on my cheek
From the Wings I expect when it lands
It seems to have got bigger and brighter recently
That’s a relief Because
I worry Far too much
about my soul and how it’s doing
do I pray enough ?
am I positive enough?
that kind of thing
And Its a real improvement,
on Assuming I will spend eternity in hell
You know Because I like girls
That was NOT fun.
The angel explained
I’ve got new orders
They came from you in fact
I am to patrol the perimeter fence
And limit how much sadness and sorrow gets in
Wow I answered I didn’t know I had any say in that
I thought the more sadness and sorrow, the better I would beCome
“Not necessarily so Explain the angel
You can ask for a different experience
When you i’ve had enough of this one,
just see how you feel and let me know
I’m always here Standing guard at the gate of your soul
