SIR MORGAN by Di Klepac

We all walked silently forward to the last room
Smiles met tears
And all were easily erased in the moment of grief
Sir Morgan had a twinkle in his eyes
Which said its goodbyes—
In the moment—
Even though he had been saying goodbye for months
How are we to understand and to read such unconditional intelligence?
Perhaps we should all look more closely
Not only at our furry little friends
But the reflection of ourselves which they give
Oh,only known a short time
Everything is only a fleeting moment
And then the dolphin dives down
And makes a splash
And a wave
Turns into sand
And then, we all start again.
