Popcorn By Beth Haist

 She pulls us closer
This round table meeting- squared
Impromptu –
Singing,
A dance party of one,
Electrified this*
Culmination,  satisfaction WITHIN
Women capable of WIND RAIN AND THUNDER yet all we want,
Is put asunder,
Tiny encounter-where your Portia meets my Ellen with that thunderclap of knowing,
Today is the day of infinity pools and sun splashes-
Today is a day we celebrate like no other
JUST
BECAUSE
We can
We do-
We relinquish control for a moment longer
BECAUSE at our age we know
These moments rote and memorized are always being eclipsed
By something new and novel
Right, here she is this moment like no other except she precedes with flurry and gridlike precision
That only a goddess
Could envision
Encapsulate
A reflection of light ,prismatic
Glorious day
Of laughter and friends
And
Connection
