PARADOX INFINITUM by Dana Lynn

(written weeks ago when we were allowed to go to the beach)

i wore my favorite t-shirt with a bleeding heart on it

i went to the beach and saw the people
walking, running, biking, playing
each of us drenched in the same sun
the sun, our friend and an enemy of the virus

the waves crashed as they always do
gentle yet thunderous
constant yet unpredictable
a rhythmic reminder that

we will feel loss, we will recover, we will move forward
we will feel loss, we will recover, we will move forward
we will feel loss, we will recover, we will move forward

for the rest of time

and so I breathe and keep walking
and wearing my favorite t-shirt with the bleeding heart on it
