MEMORIAL DAY IN COVID By Fiona Goodwin

I think today
Of those who lost their lives
In noble service to their country,
They defended us from harm
And their children and mothers and fathers
And sisters and brothers also
Lost unwittingly
The life they would have had –
Had the soldier they loved not died.
What can I do today?
I can be brave and fight to be unmasked
I’m not asking for a medal
I just want to live life
Full out.
Kafka
“You do not need to leave your room. Remain sitting at your table and listen. Do not even listen. Simply wait, be quiet, still and solitary. The world will freely offer itself to you, to be unmasked, it has no choice. It will roll in ecstasy at your feet.” I haven’t been spending much time on social media lately, because I’ve been getting really quiet and still and trying to catch glimpses of the world roll in ecstasy at my feet.”
