HOW DO YOU FRAME LIFE? by Beth Haist

The soft pine background
Kept a rolling serenade,
As a mourning dove
In pure-
Marilyn Monroe astonishment,
Held her pin feathers down,
As they spread like a fan
In the March wind-
A pattern of color & light
Just
Underneath her
beige serene-
A fashion show today-
Just outside my window,
A perfect haiku of Spring,
Two sandhill cranes
Take the stage,
Mirrored image
Origami-
My mid-morning
Cirque du Soleil
That never fails to
Astound me.
