CHRISTMAS POEM – NOT by DK Linda

My strength is finite, my life is finite, but my love is infinite.
My heart can only take so much, my mind can only stretch so far, but my love is limitless.
So my desire for her to feel the same,
Where in my dreams she holds me close,
For her to care and reciprocate
only feels more crushing when her laughter fills the empty space.
It’s timeless and ageless- unrequited love.
Someone looks at me with desire, as I look at another the same
Always striving to not take my painful burning fire out on her innocent indifference
We all fall asleep, miles and miles apart … wishing on the same far off star
That in the end, the boundless love we hold inside heals our desperate hearts
Epilogue: (yes, this poem has an epilogue!)
We wish them well
We find joy in their joy
We learn to be “kind to our sadness”
We accept that their path was their own
And we walk our shadows home.
