Canoe Cruising by Jen Curry

Fantasies floundered
in mid summer’s heat.
Passing through refreshing
Adirondack waters.
Landing on islands.
Floating on sacred lakes.
Embodying surface tension.
As it gives way, to unison.
Rebounding radiant sunlit
scattering light patterns
revealing mysteries.
Comforting souls.
Soles with aching feet.
Listening to spacious silence.
As the season churns cheerfully.
Carried by waves and currents.
Pushing and pulling effortlessly.
Summer breeze blows secrets.
One lone seagull at home.
Buoyant among undulated swells.
Bending bowing,
to the spirt of the wind.
