A BENEFICIAL PRESENCE ON THE PLANET By Fiona Goodwin

Always think of others first
Was the mantra in my home
You must die to yourself
Said The church (my other home)
I skirted around the shadows in my heart
Looked outside myself for the lost parts
Sometimes I avoid the traffic on the 405
It’s a 12 lane freeway
I take Sepulvida instead
I’m all for taking shortcuts
But eventually, The congestion between the valley and the desert will have to be solved.
I need a hand to hold to walk me through What I no longer wish to avoid.
It’s time.
